Ring itinerary starting at the camp “Le Fonti” in Cervarezza
Duration: 1 day – length: 38 km – altitude difference: 700m – Difficulty: medium
Starting from the camping “Le Fonti” Cervarezza begins a long and winding descent, touching the small towns of “Cà di Scatola” and “Groppo” leads to the valley of the river Atticola. Found the main road sp512 climb reaching the hamlet of Rosano and Casino, where it is recommended to stop at the dairy capital “La Cagnola” to taste as well as Parmigiano Reggiano. A few rides and you will reach the historic town of Castelnuovo Ne’ Monti where a short detour, you can reach the base of the famous “Bismantova’s Pietra” . The main roadbook follows the ridge a few kilometers south along the main road and then turn on the Cerreto country lanes touching the resort of Costa de ‘Grassi and Talada, the birthplace of the famous painter of the 400’ by Pietro da Talada. A Talada we recommend a stop at the garden and workshop of the sculptor Giacomo Poletti, before tackling the tough climb that leads to Casale, effort rewarded with a magnificent view over the valley of the Secchia, with Bismantova and Triassic gypsum. Last few rides the leading cyclists in Cervarezza and here we return to the “Le Fonti“.
