Renewable energy

Parco Bike is a project leaded by the National Park of Tuscan-Emilian Apennines and his partner STA (Sviluppo Terre Alte) that has the target to reduce CO emissions into the atmosphere by using renewable forms of energy. E-bikes have been choosen as the best means to allow a greater number of people to enjoy nature, culture and history of the National Park and to develop a form of sustainable tourism.

E-bikes rental points are been placed within the territory of the National Park and at the nearest railway stations giving visitors the possibility to use the train to reach the Parco Bike project area. Each rental points has a photovoltaic shelter able to transform solar energy into electricity to charge the batteries of the E-bikes.
